Austin attorney Barney L. Knight has been named the interim city attorney for Corpus Christi.
Knight is a graduate from the University of Texas where he received both his B.A. and law degrees. Knight also obtained his masters from Texas State University.
Previously, Knight was a partner at Knight & Partners of Austin, where he practiced municipal law representing local governments. Knight has over 30 years of experience in law. He has previously served as a city attorney for the municipalities of Austin and Temple,.
“Having served cities in both public and private legal practice, Mr. Knight has the experience to lead the department during the department review. His expertise in municipal law also provides a high level of continuity of service in the interim,” according to a statement from a Corpus Christi official.
