The new Local Rules for the District Courts of Travis County were approved by the Texas Supreme Court on April 22, 2014. The District Courts will implement these rules beginning Monday, June 2, 2014. The rules change significantly in some respects including:

  • ü The addition of a rule for limited appearance in Chapter 20.
  • ü The inclusion of previously entitled “procedures” for family law cases in Chapters 21-26.
  • ü Authorization for Civil County Court at Law Judges to hear district court family law cases in addition to civil cases pursuant to Texas Government Code, Section 74.074.
  • ü The adoption of the TRAP rules regarding the requisites of briefs for judicial review of state agency decisions.

Judge Yelenosky will explain these and other changes to the Local Rules and will answer questions during this brown bag seminar.
