Pillsbury Announces New Managing Partner for Austin Office

Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP has announced that Ed Cavazos will be its new managing partner in Austin.

Cavazos, an Intellectual Property partner, joined the firm last January, just one year after the office opened with four attorneys. Today, the office boasts 27 professionals and recently expanded into the Frost Tower building in downtown Austin.

Cavazos represents clients in transactional and litigation matters involving technology. In his transactional practice, he handles general business and corporate deals with an emphasis on complex technology-related transactions involving intellectual property licensing arrangements, development contracts, sales and distribution arrangements, among others. He has civil jury trial experience in both state and federal courts, where he has litigated disputes involving patents, trade secrets, copyrights, trademarks, breaches of contract and Internet-related claims.
